Wie geht es weiter?
“Die Schwester aus Schlesien” was the first chapter of a series about the lives of Angelika and Marianne. If you would like to know what happened to them and learn about German history in the 20th century, you will be able to sign up for a follow-up program from June 20. Here’s a preview of the content:
- Week 1 (Munich 1943): Marianne becomes friends with Sophie Scholl and almost gets arrested by the Nazis. Her boyfriend Günter is sent to war and is captured by the French.
- Week 2 (Schlesien/Berlin 1946): Angelika and her grandma have to leave Breslau and move to a small town near Berlin.
- Week 3 (Cologne 1961): Marianne and her family are shocked when they hear that a wall was built in Berlin. Will they ever see Angelika again?
- Week 4 (Berlin 1973): Marianne travels to Berlin and meets Angelika for the first time after 30 years while West Germany suffers from the oil crisis.
- Week 5 (Cologne 1990): After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Angelika moves to Cologne and gives Marianne a letter from Sarah that she had hidden since 1924.
